1. Citiworks ruling – is this the end of private networks?

    In June 2008, the European Court of Justice ruled on the Citiworks versus Leipzig Airport case.  The electricity infrastructure at Leipzig Airport is run as a monopoly to all connected customers, who are unable to change supplier as there is no third party access to the local distribution network.  This exemption was allowed under German law.  (more…)
